Calm morning

We decided to use Lyft back to the airport, it would be around fifty dollar, but from the Bronx, all the way to JFK airport would take almost two hours with public transport. There is no direct connection from here and we got lucky because our host allowed us to stay a few hours longer after checkout time.

I spent the morning preparing some videos on the laptop, to use for video editing and uploading to YouTube.

We packed and got ready, I was feeling a little worried no driver would take us to the airport, from my experience of driving Uber in Amsterdam, many drivers seem to refuse longer rides and I was hoping the same thing wouldn’t happen here. The first two drivers did cancel, but a third one came in to pick us up.

Cameras everywhere

This was a seasoned driver, there were warnings on every window that we’re being recorded and to be kind. My friend always tells me to get a taxi dashcam, one that records out the car but also inside, in case something happens. I never feel the need for a camera like this, but it does give you some protection as a driver, you never know what someone will say or wants to do to you. Especially at night, I drive a lot of drunk people and it’s always interesting to see what someone says or ends up talking about. They also bring the danger of getting sick in your car, I do have puke bags with me, they saved me many times before and I can recommend them to any driver. Also seeing if a passenger is able to walk and doesn’t tip over or needs support from mates is a tell if someone is too nauseous to sit in a car.

Demy inside the Empire State Building

To end the trip I want to share another photo of inside the Empire State Building, I think this was the highlight for me on this visit to New York.
