All I needed was my wallet from the truck. I could see the mighty Dodge Ram from my window, I left my wallet in there and was just worried I’d forget it again tomorrow morning. I planned to get some money from the ATM to gift the kids a late Christmas present.

I put on my Dutch wooden clogs, ideal for this muddy terrain, especially after it rained heavily two days ago. I walked over to the truck and all went fine, I saw my wallet laying there in the middle console and I just had to grab it. I opened the door of the truck and reached for my wallet, I walked back slowly to the RV where I’m staying in right now. Everything went fine so I thought, but once back inside the RV and I removed the clogs my toe suddenly started feeling really painful. Just to the right side of my left toe, like there was a tiny hair stuck under the skin. If you’ve ever experienced that, I think it’s the most annoying pain there is, it just feels like something is stinging you the entire time.

Right now I’m resting and looked at my toe with tweezers, I don’t see anything. It was a bad decision to not put on some socks and maybe some plant that was stuck inside the wooden shoe got me. I’m trying to think of some home remedies to get anything out of my skin, I remember my mother used to make a foot bath with some kind of soda and warm water to remove splinters when I was little.

The problem is if you ask for soda here, you’ll get a cold drink which is refilled whenever you finish it. So as of right now I’ll stay home for the day and hopefully tomorrow everything will be better, let’s put something to eat in the oven.
